As many of you know, I’m in a long-distance relationship. A and I lived here in China together for four years before he went back to the States to study law. Many people have asked me why I didn’t go with him. Basically, one thing that has always been important to both of us is growth — both as individuals and as a couple. He needed to go back to grow, and I needed to stay here. The growing together while apart may seem like a more daunting task, and it is not without its challenges, but on the whole, we’ve managed pretty well. Demanding schedules keep us distracted while technology such as Skype allows us to spend time together. I also read today about wine glasses with receptors signaling when your partner is drinking, though A and I usually can see that anyway with the Skype cam. Still, a nice idea.
A is coming in a month to spend the entire summer with me, and I’m really yearning for that time to come. I’m feeling listless without him.
Wine glasses are one thing, but what about remote hugs? I suppose the coordination might be trickier.

That is AWESOME. My favorite line: “The Hug Shirt is not meant to replace human contact.”
Oh yes, and batteries not included, right? Thanks Russell!
